HP 2810 Switch Series
HP 2810
Switch series consist of two types of switches in it. One is the 24-Port HP
2810-24G switch & the Second one is 48-Port HP 2810-48G Switch. First one
has the 20 10/100/1000 ports while the second one consists of 44 10/100/1000
ports.
Each of the switches consists of four Dual personality ports for RJ-45 (normal internet, cable connector) 10/100/1000 or mini GBIC Fiber Gigabit connectivity.
Layer
2 features with 24 or 48 GB Port:
HP 2810 Switch series comes up with the layer 2 approach (traditional switching) which means its OSI operates on layers 2, where MAC addresses or physical addresses are used to send the packets to the destination device. A layer 2 approach is very easy to deploy because in this approach the device (sender) is, in other words directly connected to another device (receiver). For example, if a device having MAC address XY sends the packet on Port 1, so the switch has its data saved in it and it will directly extract data from that port instead of searching within all the ports and wasting its time. That’s why this is a very timely device and effective in use.
Security:
This switch series of HP allows the security of port that means the administrator can have direct access to specific ports using its MAC address. It also enables the facility of protected ports that means there can be a number of specified ports which can only be used by the shared resources. No one will be allowed to use them except the allowed ones.
This
series enables the speed traffic accounting and monitoring, also facilitates
the remote monitoring that refers to reporting capabilities for statistics,
alarms & history. It has the feature of the Dual Flash image which provides
independent primary and secondary operating system files for backup while
upgrading.
It
automatically prevents the flooding of IP multicast traffic. It is very easy to
use as it provides a Locator LED (switch) on it which allows the user to set
the LED on a specified switch to either turn it on/off or blinking. It
simplifies Troubleshooting.

HP 2530 Switch Series
It consists of four fully managed layer 2 edge switches which are
cost effective, reliable and enables the secure connectivity for the business
networks. It is based on layer 2 switching.
The HP 2530 Switch series is very easy to use, it provides ease to deploy and it is managed by
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) which is used to exchange the
information between different network devices. It can also be managed by the
web GUI.
Quality of service:
This series enables the
traffic prioritization in a way that it allows real-time traffic
classification/specification with the capability of eight priority levels which
are mapped to either two or four queues. It is based on the Weighted Deficit
Round Robin (WDRR) approach or strict priority.
It ensures the quality
of service by prioritizing traffic to a specific port and by setting their
priority levels. It also enables to prioritize traffic by specifying a VLAN.
Management:
HP 2530 Switch series can be managed by Web
Graphical User Interface (GUI), Command Line (CLI) or by Simple Network
Management Protocol (SNMP).
In GUI, it is HTML based
and it’s easy for any administrator to configure it by using any web browser.
CLI also ensures to advanced configuration and diagnostics.
Connectivity:
Allows the IPv6 host to
manage the switches on the edge of IPv6 Networks. Also has the Dual Stack
property (IPv4/IPv6). MLD snooping option ensures to prevent the possible
flooding in the IPv6 network.
This series allows the
user to port mirroring that means to mirror the specific port at any point,
find & fix, inform enables to find the different problems which can occur
in a network and solves them. It provides the security through Access Control
List (ACLs), source port filtering and Secure Sockets layer (SSL).
